What Is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a system of strength and conditioning that is, by design, meant for anyone looking for real fitness gains, a community-based gym, a high level of training/instructions, and inspired workouts. CrossFit is designed for universal scalability, which means that it can be adapted for any individual seeking to improve their level of fitness and health. By definition, CrossFit is “constantly varied, high-intensity, functional fitness.”

What does all that mean? Constantly varied means that the workouts are always changing, which will never let your body adapt. If your body doesn’t adapt, then it won’t be able to plateau, which means you will continue to see results and gains in your fitness! High-intensity means “power.” Power, by definition is Force x Distance/ Time. This translates to you moving weights over varied distances and time. Functional movements are things you do in everyday life that the human body was built to do. Such examples are squatting (sitting in a chair), dead lifting (picking up a box from the ground), running, jumping, pulling, etc. These movements promote neurological and hormonal responses, which lead to better health.
